Painting fall scenes can be very intimidating if you try to capture every detail. Try squinting your eyes at the scenery to see all the major areas of composition as shapes of light and dark. This helps get rid of distracting details. Focus on the large shapes and block those in first then add the smaller shapes. Painting a thousand leaves would be tedious so try adding dashes of bright color or dark accents over a middle-value color to add those fallen leaf or light capturing leaf details. Start with a larger brush for most of the work then add detail in with a smaller brush.
