Explore silhouette art with an image or design such as a person, object or scene in a single hue or tone (often in black or white) where the solid shape and edges match the outline of the subject. Silhouettes say a lot with little information, use of light and shadow, giving the object definite presence. It's a mood!

Our silhouette kits often include an easy to use, already cut out tracing template for the design subject. Instructions will tell you at which step to trace the template. A regular pencil, chalk, or a charcoal pencil can be used to trace the template onto the canvas. Tip: be sure to apply a light trace so the lines can easily be painted over with one or 2 applications of paint. The darker the trace, the more applications of paint will be needed to cover or may smear. Light pencil sketches can often be erased. Where cutouts are not provided, simply paint designated sections solid as described in the instructions.
